Why is this proposal on the ballot?
The 2024 Charter Revision Commission reviewed the New York City Charter to ensure its efficiency and responsiveness to all New Yorkers, held public hearings and conducted outreach to solicit public input, and offered the following suggested changes.
What this proposal says:
Cette proposition modifierait la Charte de la ville pour établir le poste de responsable principal de la diversité des entreprises (CBDO), autoriser le maire à désigner le bureau qui délivre les permis de tournage, et combiner les conseils des archives.
Voter « Oui » permettrait d’établir un CBDO pour soutenir les MWBE, d’autoriser le maire à désigner le bureau qui délivre les permis de tournage, et de combiner deux conseils. Voter « Non » laissera les lois inchangées.
What this proposal means:
The proposal would create a new role to support MWBEs, allow the Mayor to designate which agency issues film permits, and merge two boards that manage city records into one.
